6th Grade

Sixth Grade Social Studies covers the geography, history, governments, and economies of various regions, including Europe, Latin America, Canada, and Australia. Each unit explores the history, cultures, governments, and economies of these areas to help students develop a richer understanding of the world. Students are introduced to Document-Based Questions (DBQs) and Free Response Questions (FRQs), where they analyze historical documents, pull evidence, and defend stances. Through practice, they strengthen their critical thinking and historical analysis skills.

7th Grade

Seventh Grade Social Studies builds on the skills developed in sixth grade, focusing on the geography, history, governments, and economies of Southern and Eastern Asia, Southwest Asia, and Africa. Students examine the unique cultures, historical developments, and global significance of these regions. They continue to develop analytical skills through DBQs and FRQs, evaluating historical documents, graphs, and other sources. By interpreting and synthesizing information, they construct well-supported arguments and strengthen their ability to draw meaningful historical conclusions.

8th Grade

Eighth Grade Social Studies focuses on Georgia history, from the first Native American settlements to its role in modern America. Students explore Georgia’s connection to U.S. and world history while deepening their understanding of government, economics, and culture. They continue refining their analytical skills through DBQs and FRQs, building on their ability to analyze historical documents, develop arguments, and support conclusions with evidence. This foundation prepares them for the rigor of high school courses.
